Woollen Mill set to create nine jobs
The Edinburgh Woollen Mill (EWM) said yesterday it was creating nine jobs at a new store opening on Bridge Street, Inverness, next week.
Area manager Paul Boyfield said: “It’s going to be a great addition to Bridge Street and to the local retail mix.”
The Carlisle-based group has an outlet on High Street, Inverness, under its Gleneagles of Scotland brand. The new store is due to open on February 28.
Meanwhile, Elma Hall, employer and partnership manager for Inverness and Rossshire Jobcentres, said
“Great addition to Bridge Street and to the local retail mix”
the Department for Work and Pensions was helping with the recruitment for 20 new jobs at a new Wrens Kitchens’ outlet opening at Inverness shopping park in September.
Ms Hall also said the Highland capital’s labour market was currently “much healthier” than a few years ago, thanks to vacancies in the construction, security, hospitality, care and energy sectors.
The latest claimant count figures for the UK parliamentary constituency of Inverness, Nairn and Badenoch show a 10% year-on-year drop in the number of people out of work and claiming benefits in the three months to November last year.
