EXPLORING THE NORTH COAST 500

The North Coast 500, now known as one of the most iconic road trips in the world, offers a huge Highland playground for both kids and kids at heart.

On fairer days, let the little ones stretch their legs at Wyvis Natural Play Park in Garve in Ross-shire.

The park has been designed to include climbing and balancing structures of different heights and difficulties to suit all ages and abilities, as well as swings and zip wire.

Plus, a large part has been left as natural forest, perfect for exploring, playing hide and seek and building dens.

If the weather isn’t as kind, visit the five-star Historylinks museum in Dornoch.

Young visitors can dress up as Vikings and explore the museum with puzzles and quizzes – the answers of which can only be found in the museum.

Build a model of the Dornoch Cathedral or display your very own collection of items in the children’s room cabinet.

The rest of the North Coast 500 route offers plentiful opportunities for fresh air to tire out the kids, with cycling, award-winning beaches, coastal walks and water activities.
