Firefighters tackle blazing hay on trailer
A trailer parked at a north MoT test centre has been damaged after its hay load caught fire.
Emergency services attended the blaze in Muir of Ord after numerous calls from the public reporting a “bang” and smoke in the area of an industrial estate. Three fire crews attended from Beauly, Dingwall and Inverness, just before 8.30pm on Thursday.
A trailer with hay on board was alight in the grounds of the Muir of Ord MoT Test Centre.
Firefighters tackled the blaze with three main jets and two hose reel jets, and police also attended, closing off access to the industrial estate. The fire was put out more than an hour later, with the fire service leaving shortly before 10pm.
A police spokesman said: “No one was injured and there are no suspicious circumstances.”
The owner of the building declined to comment yesterday.
