Time to trial end to shivering on terraces
SIR, – I am writing to say how much I enjoyed reading your back page sport article “Let’s schedule a revolution” (The Press and Journal, March 25).
I agree wholeheartedly with ex-Ross County and Caley Thistle goalkeeping ace and current
Glenurquhart shinty stalwart Michael Fraser that this would be the ideal timeframe to trial summer Scottish league football next season when we hopefully have Covid-19 under control.
There could be many advantages for players, backroom staff and fans involved in the playing of the great game on, hopefully, mainly warm, sunny afternoons and summer evenings.
It is definitely worth a try. Scottish football could benefit from a radical change and it has seemed to work well for shinty over the last few seasons.
Finally, it is great to read the views of a good all-round sportsman such as Michael. Well done P&J.
