Work on surface called off
A road resurfacing job in Argyll has been cancelled.
Work on the A83 Tarbet to Campbeltown road north of Tarbert, Kintyre, was scheduled to get under way last night.
However, for the safety of employees Bear Scotland has postponed the two-night project and said a new date would be announced in the coming weeks.
Eddie Ross, Bear Scotland’s north-west representative, said they are closely following government advice in relation to their staff and business.
“It is necessary to postpone some projects across the network including these surfacing improvements on the A83 Erines South Lodge,” he said.
“However, essential services such as our emergency defect repair teams will continue to monitor the conditions of routes across the network ensuring they remain safe for vital users such as emergency services, food supplies and medical equipment deliveries.”
