Fans of Doric film will have to wait year

North-east film-makers will have to wait to see the fruits of their labour on the big screen with the cancellation of the 2020 Doric Film Festival.

The event had been open for entries until the end of May, with an awards ceremony planned for June.

But with the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak organisers have decided to postpone until next year. The festival will still have a virtual presence this summer, with plans in the pipeline to host an online celebration on June 30 – the day the awards were due to take place.

This will feature prerecorded messages and
