Unity over NHS volunteers scheme

SIR, – Miles Briggs MSP has suggested Scotland should copy the English NHS Corona volunteer scheme. Nicola Sturgeon has said she’ll consider it.

Rather than re-invent the wheel and lose time, money and lives, a “branded” NHS Scotland page can be set up. This is an opportunity to leverage national strategy, co-ordination, co-operation, procedures and huge publicity so we can all do our bit.

Our social, educational and

health problems and the huge coronavirus rescue bill will still exist after this crisis so this could be the start of a community movement.

Surely this is an opportunity for Westminster, Holyrood and the main parties to work together for once and get things moving.
