Paths sealed as body of man, 54, is found

-

Footpaths have been sealed off in a Moray town following the discovery of a man’s body.

Police were called to Haugh Road in Elgin shortly before 8am yesterday after the find was reported to them.

Officers secured an area on the River Lossie near Moray Leisure Centre while investigations were carried out at the scene.

Tape was set up to prevent access to walkers while specialists worked.

Police confirmed a body was recovered.

A police spokesman said: “We can confirm officers were called to the Haugh Road area of Elgin at about 7.55am on Monday following the death of a 54-yearold man.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and, as with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
