Teenage duo get baking for Barnardo’s

- BY KAITLIN EASTON

Two Aberdeen teenagers have started a baking challenge to raise money for charity while stuck at home.

Charlotte Stuart and Jocelyn Sanderson, both 15, volunteer at their local Barnardo’s retail store in Danestone.

Due to lockdown, they have been unable to help and have raised funds for the charity instead.

The Harlaw Academy pupils are encouraging people to get involved on social media by baking something, donating a suggested £2 and then nominating three people to do the same.

Charlotte said: “A couple of weeks ago a friend and I decided to set up a fundraiser as we do quite a lot in the shop when we volunteer and are missing our time there.

“On the first week

Ibaked a banana loaf and Jocelyn baked brownies. Then on the second week I did cookies and she made cheesecake bites.

“Our target is £250 and we’re doing quite well.”

The pair have raised £113 so far and donations can be made at justgiving. com/fundraising/ bakeforbarnardos
