Broch in tune for karaoke challenge

- BY CALLUM LAW

Fraserburgh manager Mark Cowie hopes other clubs rise to Brora Rangers assistant manager Craig Campbell’s social media karaoke challenge.

The Cattachs No 2 started his #cammyokes challenge and tasked others in the Highland League and elsewhere to post clips of themselves singing a song of their choice.

This week the Broch posted a video of the players and management performing Journey’s hit Don’t Stop Believin’, which has almost 4,000 views.

With more football figures getting involved, Campbell started a GoFundMe page which has already raised more than £3,500 for the NHS.

Bellslea boss Cowie said: “It’s a great thing that Craig is doing. The NHS is amazing and it’s good to try to assist them.

“We’re all known for football and going head to head and trying to get the better of each other.

“But it’s nice to relax and have a bit of a laugh with one another and I think that’s what we’ve done.

“Craig started it and Brora have set the bar. He’s looking for everybody to relax and have a bit of fun and we thought we could rise to that challenge.

“The whole squad chipped in to make the video and a girl called Leanne Park helped us by editing it all together and it seemed to go down a treat. So hopefully other clubs and a few other Highland League clubs take it as a bit of a challenge and maybe come up with their own version of something.

“One thing I’d say about us at Fraserburgh is that we’re better footballers than we are singers.

“But we’d great fun doing it. All the guys got involved and it brought us together at this time. It was brilliant we were able to do something like that and hopefully other clubs do the same.”
