An early taste of summer
Aldi stores are selling the first Scottish strawberries of the season.
They’ve been grown by Tim Stockwell at Barnsmuir Farm in Fife for Angus Soft Fruits.
Tim said: “As with countless other businesses, we too are facing difficulties as a result of the coronavirus lockdown, but we’re all pulling together and this year more than ever, it certainly feels like a real achievement to be able to supply Aldi customers with the first punnets from this year’s first crop of Scottish strawberries.”
Supporting Orkney
Two special pages can be viewed on the Orkney.com website, showcasing local food, drink and creative producers offering products which can be bought online and delivered to your home.
This site is a way of supporting them, but also gives those, who may have had to postpone a holiday there this year, the chance to enjoy a little piece of the islands at home.

The high-protein ice cream has just 360 calories per 450ml tub, and is being rolled out across Aldi stores.
Sweet effort
Scottish artisan chocolatier, COCO, has released a trio of limited-edition chocolate bars to raise funds for NHS Charities.
The bars feature artwork paying homage to the NHS, donated by artists including Sir Billy Connolly.
Bars are priced at £8.50 each with £5 going to an NHS charity, while a three-bar collection, priced £25.50, has £15 going to an NHS charity.
