- BY KIRSTEN ROBERTSON

People across the north-east have been encouraged to share their opinions on how “to make Aberdeenshire the best place in Scotland to grow up”.

Communities have been invited to take part in a consultation on the region’s Children’s Services Plan 2020-23.

The plan sets out priorities for organisations such as Aberdeenshire Council, Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership, Police Scotland and NHS Grampian to work to help young people.

The aim is to “provide them (children) with the right support, in the right place, at the right time

“People have a view on services but never make views known”

in helping them reach individual potential and goals” and to make “Aberdeenshire the best place in Scotland to grow up”.

Gillian Owen, chairwoman of the education and children’s services committee, said: “All too often people have a view on the way services should be delivered but never make those views known.

“This is an opportunity to have your say.”

Council chief executive Jim Savege said: “As a council we strive to give young people the best possible future and to do this we work in partnership with a number of organisations including Police Scotland and NHS Grampian to make sure a consistent approach to supporting children and young people is delivered.”
