Tories’ power grab bid across Britain
SIR, – So Moray MP Douglas Ross is to be parachuted into the post of leader of the Scottish Conservatives, and we should be glad because he does not represent a central belt constituency.
Everyone can see that this is the doing of Boris Johnson and Dominic Cummings.
This is yet again Westminster telling Scotland what to do and expecting us to be grateful.
Twenty-three years after the “yes” vote to establish the Scottish Parliament, the Tories still do not understand devolution.
They are not even Unionists, they are English nationalists making a power grab across all British institutions, from the courts to the Lords and now Holyrood.
But voters still have the ultimate power, so the Tories should not be surprised when they are rejected at the ballot box.
