- BY KEITH FINDLAY

Business support organisation Elevator and the engineering firm Balmoral Group have expanded their @balmoralHUB in Aberdeen by 5,000sq ft following demand for additional space from existing tenants and new inquiries.

A third wing of the three-storey pavilion is due to open its doors at the end of the month, offering executive office space and meeting rooms for a further 13 businesses.

The @balmoralHUB facility was created to promote an innovative and collaborative business culture.

When the third wing is completed it will host a total of 40 businesses.

Elevator property director Karen Pugh said: “Amidst the pandemic, expanding our third floor is a sign of confidence for local start-ups and SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises).

“Over the past five months businesses have been reviewing the makeup of their property options and rebalancing their projects.

“Covid-19 has provided opportunities for businesses to consider new or smarter premises options.

“If we want to contribute to economic growth, we have to provide the right accommodation for businesses of all sizes. I believe @balmoralHUB does exactly that.”

Jim Milne, chairman and managing director of Balmoral Group, added: “It is encouraging that Elevator continues to receive inquiries for office space in such challenging times but, I have to say, this typifies north-east Scotland’s entrepreneurial spirit.

“What is on offer @balmoralHUB is serviced office accommodation of the very highest order and may fit the bill for many businesses that are exploring new and exciting ways of working.”
