STIRLING – Caledonian Marts sold 160 cattle comprising 67 bullocks, hefiers and young bulls, and 93 OTMs on Thursday. Bullocks averaged 232p and sold to 268p per kg for a Limousin from D S & R C Taylor, Easter Ochtermuth­ill, Muthill, and to £1,593 for a Limousin from D Dickinson, Brockwoodl­ees, Canobie.

Heifers averaged 224p and sold to 245p per kg for a Limousin from D Dickinson, Brockwoodl­ees, and to £1,694 for a Limousin from the same home.

Young bulls averaged 186p and sold to 212p per kg and £1,340 for a Lim from J Burnett & Sons, Upper Spittalton, Blairdrumm­ond. OTMs averaged 124p selling to 199p per kg for a Simmental from R Graham & Son, Airthrey Kerse, Bridge of Allan, and to £1,390 for a Limousin from J F & M B Teague, Temple House, Buteland.

Dairy cows averaged 94p selling to 116p per kg from W Waugh, North Bankhead, Avonbridge, and £870 from Barr Farms, Meldrum.

FORT WILLIAM – Dingwall and Highland Marts Ltd sold 231 weaned calves and store cattle, 30 OTMs and three head of adult breeding cattle on Thursday. Bullocks (139) averaged 240.7p and sold to 282.1p per kg for a pair of 140kg Limousin crosses from Ardnamurch­an Estates, Kilchoan, and £870 for a pair of 420kg Salers crosses from 2 & 3 Kinloid, Arisaig. Heifers (88) averaged 206.9p and sold to 250.0p per kg for a pair of 220kg LimX from Keppoch Farms, Roy Bridge, and £670 for a 365kg LimX from Insh Farm, Spean Bridge. Young bulls (4) sold to 317.9p per kg and £620 for a pen of 195kg Charolais crosses from Moy Farm, Banavie.

Breeding cattle (3) sold to £780 for an incalf SimX cow from Luinga Mhor, Arisaig. OTM cattle (30) sold to 134.7p per kg for a 735kg LimX cow from 8, 9 & 10 Cuilchenna, Onich, and £1,010 for a 805kg AberdeenAn­gus cross cow from Toriri, Corpach.

THAINSTONE – Aberdeen and Northern Marts sold 69 prime cattle on Thursday. Prime bullocks (16) averaged 179.9p (-12.2p) and sold to 237p per kg for a 540kg Limousin cross from Whiteside, Tullynessl­e, and £1,423.50 for a 730kg Hereford cross from Dalab, Monymusk.

Prime heifers (36) averaged 209.9p (-6.3p) and sold to 233p per kg for a 560kg LimX and £1,374.70 for a 590kg LimX both consigned by Stoneyhill, Keith-Hall.

Young bulls (7) averaged 147p (+13.8p) and sold to 172p per kg for a 660kg AAX from Braco Farm, Hatton, and £1,367.10 for a 930kg Char from Milton of Collieston, Ellon. 30 to 48 months: Bullocks (6) averaged 159.8p and sold to 197p per kg and £1,260.80 for a 640kg Aberdeen-Angus cross from Barns of Ayre, Deerness. Heifers (4) averaged 164.7p and sold to 193p per kg and £1,302.75 for a 675kg Charolais cross from Dallasbrou­ghty, Dunphail.

THAINSTONE – Aberdeen and Northern Marts sold 336 cows and bulls on Thursday. Beef cows (266) averaged 128.9p (-6.9p) and sold to 189.5p per kg for a 628kg Limousin cross from Tongside, Scotscalde­r, and £1,430 for a 1,015kg Simmental from Birchfield, Midtown of Glass.

Dairy cows (19) averaged 116.7p (-6.8p) and sold to 144.7p per kg and £1,030 for a 712kg from Whitehall Farm, Stronsay. Boning cows (32) averaged £364.84. Bulls (19) averaged £825.52 and sold to £1,300 for a 1,280kg AA from 8 Meadow Park, Kirkwall.
