-

Aberdeen’s Rachel Corsie scored her first Birmingham goal to help the Blues to a thumping 4-0 Women’ s Super League win over bottom side Bristol City.

Mollie Green added to Scotland captain Corsie’s opener while Claudia Walker’ scored a stunning long-range effort to make it 3-0 and Christie Murray grabbed the fourth from the penalty spot.

Bristol’s miserable day was compounded when Aimee Palmer needed oxygen after suffering a serious- looking injury while Abbi Grant was sent off for Birmingham in stoppage time.

Elsewhere, Vivianne Mi ed em a set a new league scoring record with a hat-trick in Arsenal’s 6-1 thrashing of north London rivals Tottenham.

The Dutch striker ’ s three goals took her to 52, breaking the mark she previously shared with England and Lyon forward Nikita Parris.

Arsenal were three up inside 15 minutes through goals from Katie McCabe, Miedema and Caitlin Foord.

Miedema, who was making just her 50 th Super League appearance, completed her hat- trick before half- time, and Foord added a sixth after the break to maintain the Gunners’ perfect start to the season.

Spurs, who also missed a penalty, had to wait until the 76th minute for a consolation, when Lucia Leon was on target

Arsenal are now clear at the top after Everton’s 100% record was ended when Aileen Whelan scored with 12 minutes remaining to grab Brighton a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, Alessia Russo scored twice and USA international Tobin Heath got off the mark for the club as Manchester United beat West Ham 4- 2 to continue their unbeaten start to the season and leave their opponents still searching for a first win.

Manchester City were unable to bounce back from last week’s defeat by Chelsea as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Reading.

The home side took an early lead at the Madejski Stadium when Amalie Eikeland headed home. City equalised in the 56th minute through Sam Mewis but could not find a winner.
