Top price went to Ewan McGregor, Wester Tillyrie for a pen of Beltex X lambs at £80. Feeding ewes sold to £62 for a Suffolk X and Texel X from C MacGregor, Carstraan & J Malcom, Ochilview. FORFAR – Lawrie & Symington sold 21 prime cattle, seven OTMs and 785 prime sheep and cast ewes and rams.

Bullocks (3) ave 246p and sold to 256p per kg and to £1,512.96 for a 591kg Limousin from Nethermyre­s. Heifers (18) ave 237p and sold to 257p per kg for a 594kg Limousin from the Gask and to £1,557.18 also from the Gask. New season lambs (613) ave 183p and sold to 226p per kg for a pair of 45kg Beltex from Shandford and to £106 for a 48kg Beltex from the same home. SQQ averaged 189p per kg.

Stot calves (332) averaged 230.5p (+22.6p on year) and sold to 329.0p per kg for a pair of 152kg CharX from Dunlichity Farm, Farr, and £1,300 for a 745kg Limousin cross from Achavraat, Nairn. Heifer calves (196) ave 228.9p (+30.9p) and sold to 336.1p per kg for a pair of 122kg Whitebred Shorthorn crosses from Dunlichity Farm, and £1,200 for a 605kg AA from Culrain Mains, Ardgay. Young bulls (16) sold to £900 from Curlew, Mybster. Breeding cattle (8) sold to £1,420 for a ShortX cow and heifer calf from Splockhill, Rogart.

DINGWALL – Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd sold 121 OTM cattle.

OTM cows (116) averaged 116.8p (+20.1p on year) and sold to 192.7p per kg for a 410kg LimX from 1 Obbe Road, and £1,250 for a 960kg LimX from Torgorm, Conon Bridge, and for a 950kg SimX from Clune Farm, Aldourie. OTM bulls (6) sold to £1,300 for an AA from Ballindall­och Home Farms.

HUNTLY – United Auctions sold 1,946 prime sheep. New season lambs (1,085) averaged 201p per kg selling to 45kg BDMX from Myreton, Insch and to £109 for Texels from Dunscroft, Huntly. Ewes (861) sold to £165 for Texels from Cairnton, Huntly.
