New Town Planner joins GH Johnston Building Consultants
An experienced Land Manager and Town Planner has recently joined long established Planning and Architecture practice G H Johnston Building Consultants Ltd.
Kenny Shand, previously Land Director and Planning and Development Consultant with Springfield Properties, has taken up a position as Senior Planning Consultant with the company.
Kenny graduated from Strathclyde University with a BA Hons in Planning and also has a Diploma in Urban Property Appraisal. He has wide experience in working with commercial and corporate clients in identifying and promoting development projects, advising and guiding clients to help secure appropriate planning consents and post planning requirements, and delivering proposals in the most effective way.

Kenny is a welcome addition to our planning team, assisting clients to achieve their development aspirations as well as securing new development opportunities. Not only has Kenny a background in the private sector, but he brings knowledge and understanding of local authority planning procedures, having held the position of Principal Planning Officer with Moray Council.’
Kenny said: ‘Since moving from Glasgow to Elgin in 1997 I have worked on a number of projects across the North and Central Belt and now welcome the opportunity of working from Inverness and Elgin. My new role will focus on assisting clients in securing appropriate consents, being involved in a wide range of development proposals from large scale mixed use Masterplans down to single house opportunities in the countryside and various others including renewables, retail, commercial and leisure. I welcome this fantastic opportunity of continuing and furthering my career with G H Johnston Building Consultants and importantly my involvement over the coming months and years with a wide range of exciting projects, and clients old and new.’ In recent years, the firm has masterminded an increasing number of major housing and construction projects on behalf of various developers and individuals, including landowners, estates and farms, tourism, hotels, commercial and residential.
