In the first half we weren’t at it. I was bitterly disappointed after what we gave against Celtic in terms of effort and getting about people.

We were second best, that’s why we shook it up.

We were hanging in there first half, but we made subs and had a better focal point up front and put more legs in midfield.

We had the better second-half chances. The first bit of football we played Jordan had the header and it was a great save.

To lose the game the way we did, we are bitterly disappointed. Referees have a tough job and you have to make a decision instantly. I can see it after the game.

When it happened our video guy said it was never a penalty. He has been conned. He will realise he’s made the wrong decision. He’s flung his leg out there, it’s not even a free-kick in the middle of pitch.

With what’s at stake, boys playing for livelihoods, you’re wanting these decisions to be correct but who would be a ref? He gets paid and he needs to make it spot on. I wish it was my team. If that’s where the game has gone maybe we’re too honest.

Some penalty decisions go for you, some go against. We need to use it as fuel to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

I’m not going to point the finger at the referee. He made an honest decision but once he sees it he’ll know he’s been conned so it’s up the authorities to do something about that.

We have to forget it and every game is different. My frustration is the firsthalf performance because we’re better than that.
