Luxury choice
I recently enjoyed sampling Mackie’s new chocolate orange and honeycomb ice cream.
I loved the rich, dark chocolate and zingy Jaffa orange which made it burst with flavour, while the texture was creamy and luxurious.
But for me, the honeycomb wasn’t necessary, as I felt the pieces were too sharp and crunchy.
But I can see this becoming a firm favourite with those looking for an effortless, luxurious pud to enjoy at home.
Available in one-litre tubs from branches of the Co-op, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Iceland.

Meaty surprise
Which part of the country has spent the most at independent butcher shops since March 2020?
New data from Paymentsense reveals it to be Kirkwall, with an average of £29.83 spent per transaction, followed by Aberdeen (£24.15) and Inverness (£22.84).
Jon Knott, from Paymentsense, said: “With hospitality sectors shut and an opportunity to support small businesses, the past year has been a great chance for independent retailers to offer goods that some places could not.”
