Minority Report - Sky One, Monday, 9pm

Based on the novel by Philip K. Dick, this Spielberg-directed sci-fi thriller is a masterclass in action and suspense. Set in 2054, it stars Tom Cruise as a police officer who is forced to go on the run when a cabal of trusted government-backed psychics – known within the film’s universe as precogs – foretell that he is on the brink of murdering a man he’s never heard of. Determined to prove his innocence, he kidnaps one of the precogs (a haunting turn from Samantha Morton) to help him get to the bottom of this sinister conspiracy. Spielberg displays his usual flair for pacing, while never losing sight of the weighty themes that fuel Dick’s mind-boggling saga.
