Ideal for those with a sweet tooth but who want to avoid sugar is Wheyhey ice cream, the UK’s first and only sugar-free ice cream. Made using milk from grass-fed cows it comes in salted caramel, chocolate and coconut flavours.

New Scottish snacks

Aldi has increased its healthy Scottish snacking selection with new ranges developed by Mackie’s at Taypack.

These include Lentil Waves in salt and vinegar or barbecue flavours (80g, 99p) and snack-size Popped Veggie Crisps (23g, 49p), made with Scottish whole peas, carrots and potatoes grown and popped locally.

They also come in salt and vinegar or smoky barbecue flavours and are naturally vegan, as well as being gluten and dairy-free.

New dram from Highland Park

Orkney-based distillery Highland Park has released its new 50 Year Old single malt Scotch Whisky.

It’s only the third time a 50-year-old has been made in the distillery’s 223-year history and only 274 bottles have been created, each signed by master whisky maker Gordon Motion.

Presented in a hand-made wooden walnut box containing an embossed heavyweight glass bottle of whisky featuring a design inspired by Orkney’s Norse heritage and a hand-crafted crystal decanter and leather-bound book telling its story, it has an RRP of £20,000.
