Spear yourself a treat with our British asparagus ideas

It’s part of the magic of eating British asparagus that it has a fairly short season, and you never quite know when it’s going to start!

All being well, British asparagus should start appearing on supermarke­t shelves, at greengroce­rs, markets and at farm gates by April 23.

Tradition dictates that the season must end on mid summer’ s day( June 21), so that’ s just eight short weeks to be eating lots of this delicious home-grown vegetable. Here’s a couple of recipes to cut out and keep so when you spot it in the shops, you’re good to go.
