Symbols not the complete solution
Arise in reported hate crimes in Aberdeen, including raciallymotivated attacks, is discouraging when – like the rest of the world – Scotland is more aware than ever of its biases and historical wrongdoings. What comes after those gestures is what counts – education, protest and backing from government and other authorities with weight behind them.
