Let’s hope Fergie statue will inspire

Sir Alex Ferguson’s newly unveiled statue at Pittodrie is a richly deserved accolade for a man who transformed Aberdeen. His achievements at the helm of the Dons will never be surpassed, so it is fitting that he has a lasting legacy at the club. While he went on to do wonderful things at Manchester United, his success at Aberdeen will be a footballing highight for many. As Jim Goodwin marks his first home game as manager today in a sold-out stadium, hopefully the statue’s presence will inspire both him and his players.
