Two wells have been spudded but are currently suspended while the rigs drill other wells. Two exploration well programmes have completed, with the Kveikje Rokke n’Roll well completing as an oil and gas discovery and the Grefsenkollen/ Øst Frigg programme completing as and oil and gas well for the Øst Frigg and a dry hole for the Grefsenkollen prospect.

NORTH SEA

Equinor spudded the high impact HPHT 34/9-1 S Cambozola well on 11 April with the Deepsea Stavanger semi sub. The well is targeting a Lower Cretaceous amplitude anomaly in a turbidite stratigraphic trap. The well has a planned 98 -ay dry hole duration and has multiple potential ties back options at Kvitebjørn, Valemon, Gullfaks and Snorre.

Aker BP spudded the HPHT 35/4-3 Laushornet well on April 8 with the Deepsea Nordkapp semi sub. The well is targeting the Lower Jurassic Cook Formation in a series of tilted fault blocks. The well has a planned 68-day dry duration and, if successful, is expected to be tied back to the Knarr field.

Equinor completed the 35/10-8 S Kveikje Rokke n’Roll exploration well on 8 April having spudded on March 8 with the Deepsea Stavanger semi sub. The well was P&A as a commercial oil and gas discovery having encountered oil and gas in the Kveikje Hordaland Group and Balder Formation injectite targets, as well as minor hydrocarbons in secondary targets. Resources are estimated at 25 - 50 mmboe.

NORWEGIAN SEA

Equinor spudded the 6305/5-C-3-H Ormen Lange Deep exploration well on 18 February. The well is targeting the Cretaceous Lysing and Intra-Lange Formation sandstones beneath the Ormen Lange field structure with predrill resources of 290 mmboe. The well has been suspended while a development well is drilled in the south of the field.

Operations are ongoing at the ConocoPhillips 6507/5-11 Slagugle appraisal well and Neptune 35/9-16 S, A Hamlet exploration well.

The well encountered two minor oil columns in the Eocene Øst Frigg Alpha structure with resources of 0.6 6.9 mmboe. The Middle Jurassic Tarbert Formation Grefsenkollen target was dry.

BARENTS SEA

Equinor spudded the 7220/8-2 S Snøfonn Nord well on April 18 with the Transocean Enabler semi sub in the Barents Sea. The well is targeting the Lower Jurassic Tubåen Formation and the Triassic Fruholmen Formation in a faulted trap. The well has a planned 43-day dry hole duration and, if successful, it could enable further development of the 7220/7-2 S Skavl discovery and is expected to be tied back to Johan Castberg.
