Should the A96 be dualled?
Yes – but it’s not about speed and bypasses. It’s about safety, how many more people will die on the A96?
Sarah Holmes
Absolutely. This should have done years ago and it’s an absolute joke that in 2022 it’s still debateworthy.
Had this been any other part of the country it would already be dualled.
David Wood
Like everything else in the north-east it’s far too late. Should have been done years ago. I don’t think it will ever happen now, as the clowns running Scotland will have us all back to using horses and carts before long.
Derek Taylor
How about finishing the A9 first, the main route north from Perth to the Highlands?
Simon Trinder
Yes, as should the A90 but it won’t happen not with the Greens wagging the tail of the Scottish Government.
Derek Hunter
Yes, in an ideal world but not feasible. Towns like Keith, Nairn and Elgin should be bypassed as a matter of urgency for the safety of all.
Cora Cumming
I’d prefer to see a whole new road built on a relatively straight line, Inverness, Glenlivet, Alford, Aberdeen. No disruption during the making of it.
Reg McKay
No but Keith, Elgin and
Nairn should be bypassed to make them safer to live in.
Steve Reeve
No, it should be single track road like it has remained since 1925 for tractors and the other 10 vehicles on the road at the time.
Ryan Callaghan
Yes, but it should have been done years ago. No wonder there are so many accidents on the A96 and A9. They are mainly caused by a combination of frustration and danger points.
This isn’t an environmental issue – we need freeflowing transport routes for electric vehicles just the same as those powered by fossil fuels. More nonsense from the Green Party.

What would you like to see happen to Belmont Quarter in Aberdeen?
Belmont Street at present looks far better than Union Street. It would be great to see it look vibrant, enticing and bustling again.
Neil Robson
It does look good but this is what needs to be done on Union Street! Keep it pedestrianised, reduce rent and rates of the empty units to encourage new independent businesses. Bistros, bars and boutiques – with outdoor sitting areas!
Glynis Gogolinski
It’s time to start cleaning the pavements in the city centre as they are filthy. Make it more welcoming. Linda Meldrum
Sort out Union Street first. Jackie Hickman
