Figures from the pathway set out in the IEA’s Net Zero by 2050 – A Roadmap for the Global Energy Sector report suggests that worldwide there will be an estimated 14 million new jobs generated in energy supply by 2030, with around five million jobs being lost. This poses a real opportunity for companies to look at existing skills and competencies to support both the upskilling and reskilling of workforces.

This blended learning approach is also being adopted with the simulator training that Drilling Systems specialises in. Most recently Drilling Systems’ advanced simulator technology has been harnessed by Robert Gordon University to deliver a training course for crews preparing for a Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) well.

Crews benefited from working together in a hands-on simulated experience, which improved their understanding of MPD operations and how it differs from conventional drilling operations, all in a safe environment.
