Hive looking for goals against Newmachar

-

There’s a full North Region Juniors McBookie. com Premier League programme this weekend with Newmachar United travelling to Glenury Park to face Stonehaven in what should be an interesting encounter.

Hive manager Martyn Rollo is still frustrated after losing narrowly at home to Fraserburgh United last weekend and Sunnybank in midweek.

The Stonehaven boss said: “We dominated against Sunnybank, but just couldn’t score. Teams are sitting in and it’s very difficult to break them down. I expect tomorrow’s game to be more of the same kind of challenge and hopefully we’ll be better at finding ways to break them down.”

Missing for the hosts are Clark Robertson, who picked up a knock on Tuesday, and Jacob Burgoyne.

Newmachar boss Ewan Robb wants to keep their current good run going, saying: “We had a good win against Maud at the weekend and we probably should have won against Buchanhaven on Tuesday when the conditions were atrocious.

“Stonehaven will be up for it, but the last three times we’ve played them it’s been tight with them winning by a single goal, so we’ll go there and give it everything and hopefully pick up the three points.”

Jason Davie misses out for United but Ryan Cormack and Ross Gibson return, while keeper Kyle Morrison has come in on loan from Huntly to provide competition for Simon Mitchell.

It should also be an intriguing clash at The Meadows where Ellon United are looking to complete a league double over champions Culter, while, at Aberdeen Sports Village, Bridge of Don Thistle entertain Hermes.

The bottom two meet at Stauff Park, where victory for Stoneywood Parkvale will close the gap on Nairn St. Ninian to just two points, while Dyce are on the road at Maud.

Elsewhere, Raemoss Park is the stage for Buchanhaven Hearts’ meeting with East End, Fraserburgh United make the journey to face Rothie Rovers and Colony Park host Sunnybank.

In the Championship, Burghead Thistle have the opportunity to go clear in third when they welcome Lossiemouth United to Forest Park, with Dufftown at home to Hall Russell United and Banchory St. Ternan on the road at Forres Thistle.

In the semi-finals of the Elginshire Cup, Banks o’ Dee JFC host Islavale with Longside entertaining Deveronside at Davidson Park. All matches kick-off at 2pm.
