Stadium protest funds hit halfway

The Press and Journal (Aberdeen) - - NEWS -

A campaign group against plans for Aberdeen FC’s new stadium at Kingsford has received half of the £60,000 needed to launch a judicial review if the scheme is given the go-ahead.

The city council will decide whether or not to approve the proposals for the 20,000-seat arena, training academy and heritage museum between Westhill and Kingswells on October 11.

Officials of the No Kingsford Stadium group confirmed last night they have received guarantees of £30,000 for their petition for a judicial review.

Heather Brock said: “The generous financial support given by those against the stadium plans is further evidence that the community does not want a stadium or any other further development along the A944.”
