Michelin stars lost and won on Skye
It was good news and bad news for Skye restaurants when the Michelin guide announced its star awards for 2018.
The Loch Bay Restaurant, based in a former crofter’s cottage, was awarded a Michelin star – but the Kinloch Lodge Hotel and Restaurant lost theirs.
Chef patron at Loch Bay is Michael Smith who runs it with his wife, Laurence, together with a front-of-house team led by Graeme Creamer.
The restaurant is in Stein, a fishing village on the north-west Waternish peninsula. Local seafood features highly on their menus, which have classic French influences.
There was no hard feelings as Loch Bay’s success was applauded
