Inverness City closing in on Glentanar

Inverness City won 3-1 at Islavale in the top game in the PMAC Group First Division.

City are now one of three teams within a point of Glentanar at the top.

Mark Hector put Keith side Islavale ahead in 17 minutes, with Andy Fraser’s 35 th- minute penalty levelling the scores.

A cracking 35-yard free kick from Gary Miller put City in front soon after the restart.

Fraser sealed the win, spinning his man at the edge of the the box after good work by Eddie Fuller.

Nairn St Ninian was amere consolatio­n goal in their 5-1 defeat by Glentanar, while bottom-of-the-table Forres Thistle lost 4-0 at Parkvale and have yet to register a point.

In the Second Division, Buckie Rovers beat RAF Lossiemout­h 7-2.

Joe Sutherland grabbed a hat-trick. Andy Milton, Mike Smith and Shaun Ingramalso scored for Buckie and an own goal made it seven. Tom Sommervill­e netted the airmen’s two consolatio­n goals.

Whitehi l ls and Fochabers shared six goals. Ross Gibb bagged a double for Whitehills and Joel Watt also scored.

Joshua McRae, Steven Stuart and Gary Woods scored for Fochabers.

Bishopmill lost 3- 0 at home to Cruden Bay.

Culter went to the top of the Superleagu­e table after a last-gasp winner from Jamie McAllister gave the Crombie Park side a 2-1 home victory over champions Hermes.

VisitorsHe­rmes had earlier got themselves off to the best possible startwhen Chris Mountford netted in theopening­minuteagai­nst his former club.

The lead did not last long however with McAllister equalising eight minutes later. A draw looked the likely outcome until the late decider secured the points for Culter.

Dyce defeated Hall Russell United 2-0 at Ian Mair Park where Kevin Neish and Steve Bartlet were on target, while Banks o’ Dee edgedit3-2overFCSto­neywood at Polo Park.

At Aberdeen Sports Village, goals from Jonathan Garden, James Duguid, Greg Alexander and Sean Robertson saw Maud run out 4-1 victors at the expense of a Lewis United side.

In the North Regional Cup, New Elgin won 3-1 at Bridge of Don Thistle. Lee Shanks bagged a double in the tie.

In the same competitio­n Lossiemout­h United beat Portgordon Victoria 3-0.

A double from Tam Hearns and one from Stevenson sealed the victory for Lossie.
