Terry’s team role models

-

Kilmarnock captain Manuel Pascali reckons Caley Thistle is the perfect role model for his side.

The Italian, whohas only recently returned to the Killie side following a hamstring injury sustained in February, was unable to prevent Killie losing 2-1 to Terry Butcher’s side on Saturday.

However, Pascali says Caley Thistle are a good example of what can be achieved in the Scottish Premiership with plenty of hard work.

He said: “In recent years I think we have been too nice. I am not saying we should be a dirty team as I am far from that type of player, but we need more determination. If we take Inverness as an example – they have a very good team but they don’t do anything special. However, they defend well as a team and they have quality up front.

games. We need to try to do the same. We have quality players, so we just need to work hard.”

The Rugby Park men are 10th in the table having taken only two points in their opening six matches but the fit-again Pascali is confident he can help turn things around for Allan Johnston’s team.

He said: “I am feeling as good as I have in the past seven months but I feel ashamed after another negative result. To have only two points after six games is not good enough.

“We can say we are creating chances and didn’t deserve to lose, but ifweare losing so many games then there is something wrong. We have only played six games and there are more than 30 remaining. We need to cut out those mistakes that are costing us points in every game.

“If we work hard our time willcome. We will play some games, create only one chance and win 1-0. We have had only one clean sheet insix games and have to do better.”
