Ramboll appoints new director
Ramboll Group’s ambitions to build its oil and gas interests in Aberdeen have led the Danish firm to appoint a managing director for its fledgling Granite City operation.
Tim Martin will oversee business in Europe’s energy capital, it was announced yesterday.
His appointment comes three months after Ramboll’s oil and gas division acquired Aberdeen consultancy Apply Altra as part of an expansion strategy.
The value of the deal withNorwegian oil and gas service group Apply was not disclosed.
Yesterday, Aberdeenbased Ramboll Oil and Gas UKsaidMrMartin brought with him more than 19 years’ experience in engineering for the oil and gas industry. The Aberdeen University graduate was previously contracted into oil majors BP and Shell through his own consultancy.
He will have responsibility for Ramboll’s daily operations in Aberdeen, reporting to headquarters in Denmark.
Ramboll said his priority would be to develop a growth plan for the UK business as it delivers multi- disciplinary engineering services for the oil and gas and renewables sectors. Oil and gas executive director TrondHelland Bynes added: “It was important for us to take stock and take time to ensure that we made the right appointment to spearhead our operations in the UK.”
