Drink driver faces losing £13,000 Audi car
A motorist faces a lengthy driving ban and could lose his car after admitting being three times the legal limit.
Ian Richard, 48, of 144 Dover Park, Dunfermline, also admitted being unsupervised as a provisional driver when he appeared from custody at Wick Sheriff Court yesterday.
The offshore worker will be sentenced on December 22. But his £13,000 Audi was impounded at the hearing. The court heard that police stopped him on the B876 at Killimster, near Wick, on Saturday night, after receiving a tip-off.
Sheriff Andrew Berry, described Richard’s breathalcohol reading as “extremely high”, making it “a very serious matter”.
The sheriff called for a background report and imposed an interim driving ban on the accused.
