McCain going for Bangor double

Good day in prospect for trainer today with Askamore Darsi and Operating

-

Donald McCain should have a good day at Bangor with Askamore Darsi and Operating holding clear chances in their respective events.

The last-named takes in the Anne Duchess Of West minster Memorial Handicap Chase as he makes his debut for the yard after his £ 140,000 sale back in May.

Formerly trained by Jessica Harrington, Operating has managed to score in bumper, hurdles and chase company but the latter division appears his natural domain in which to shine. He only opened his account at the eighth attempt at Cork in April but he followed upin style with awin in a decent novice event at the Punchestown Festival.

The form should not be taken too literally with McCain taking a low-key approach, but Operating is the pick on the book and should be respected.

Askamore Darsi perhaps proved a bit disappointing after his initial six-length bumper win last December but is worth following as he tackles fences in the Landowners Sir John Hanmer Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase.

Placed in three point to points before beginning his career under Rules, he looks the type to thrive in the chasing sphere.

Kentucky Hyden lood good for the Addington Fund Friends Of The Farmer Handicap Hurdle.

Ballyculla is the pick in the Aggregate Industries Logistics Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase at Exeter, while A Shade Of Bay can strike gold in Ayr’s Download The Bet Victor App Mares’ Handicap Hurdle. A drop in class can work the oracle for Patentar in the BetBright.com Conditions Stakes at Kempton.

Patentar’s sights are lowered again here and while the Polytrack is a new variable to consider, he is favoured by the conditions of the race.

Secret Glance can make it third-time lucky in the first division of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden Stakes.
