‘Cannot let these animals win,’ says Scots barman

-

An Aberdeen man who owns a Scottish bar in the French capital has urged others not to let the terrorists change how they live.

Colin Shepherd, who owns a bar called The Pure Malt in Rue Caron, was attending the Eagles of Death Metal gig with friends when the gunmen burst in and opened fire.

He escaped unharmed, but two of his friends were injured.

On Saturday, the Dons fanatic took to social media to thank those who had been in touch to check he was safe.

He said: “Many thanks for all the messages. Too many to respond to today. I was at the Bataclan last night with a group of friends. All of us are still here today. One was hit but I talked to him today, he was operated on last night and he'll make a full recovery.

“Our thoughts go out to another friend who was also hit but is going to get through this. I would like to thank the Paris police and emergency services for their help and support.

“If you live in Paris then please carry on as normal today. We cannot let these animals win. Bisous and bosies."

He also opened his bar on Saturday in defiance, adding: “These scumbags will not change how we live".
