Polish pay their respects
A remembrance service has been held at a Polish War Memorial in the Highlands.
Invergordon was used as a World War II base for Polish soldiers who had fled from their homeland.
Yesterday, a crowd of between 150 and 200 people gathered for a poignant ceremony to remember those who lost their lives.
The Polish memorial event is traditionally held a week after other remembrance events.
Among those gathered included Polish Consul General Dariusz Adler, local MSP Rob Gibson, Highland councillors, representatives of the local services and several members of the Polish community. Polish chaplain Father Piotr Rytel, from St. Mary’s Church in Inverness, helped lead the service.
