• Captivating museum of Aberdeen’s maritime history
• Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday noon- 3pm Aberdeen Maritime Museum is one of those places we tend to take for granted yet spending a few hours there is to take a compelling journey through the history of shipbuilding, legendary sailing ships, fishing and port history, using fascinating and fun interactive displays and multimedia presentations, right up to the best UK exhibits on the North Sea oil and gas industry. Younger children can take a quiz trail, following pictures of the museum’s pirate mascot, Granite Jack, to earn a special badge at the end. The museum is open all week and its Maritime Cafe and shop are well worth a visit in themselves. Entrance is free.
