Firm wants local view on housing
Deveron Homes has withdrawn its planning application for 31 affordable homes in Nairn to undertake local consultation and refine the design.
The £4.2m scheme at Forres Road in Nairn, developed by leading northeast property firm Deveron Homes on behalf of a local housing association, was originally submitted to Highland Council for planning permission in July this year.
Howe ver, De veron Homes withdrew its application last week to undertake further local consultation on its plans.
Mark Toland, development director for Deveron Homes, said: “This is an exciting proposal which will provide much-needed affordable housing in the area and we are keen to ensure that we deliver the best design we can and addresses any local concerns where possible.
“We will be holding a consultation event in due course, in partnership with our planning and architectural consultants G H Johnston Building Consultants Ltd, to encourage the local community to share their views on the proposal and we hope people will come and talk to us.”
A consultation event is expected to be held later this month for the proposal which, if consented, would

deliver important financial contributions towards local services and facilities through Highland Council’s developer contribution policy.
Deveron Homes is an independent property developer based in Huntly, Aberdeenshire.
Established in 2002 its portfolio includes developments in Keith, Burntisland and Peterhead with new projects planned for Inverness, Invergordon, Dingwall and Nairn.
