Offshore waste chief moves up in reshuffle
CEOmadepresident
It’s all change at the top at specialist offshore drilling waste firm TWMA, of Aberdeen, after Ronnie Garrick swapped the chief executive’s role for a newly created position as company president.
His new responsibilities have led to an opening for director Tony Branch, who is now CEO.
The changes come as TWMA, which also has offices in Peterhead, Shetland, Norway, Angola, Egypt, Abu Dhabi and the US, targets annual turnover of £200million and a head count of 1,500.
Currently turning over £50million a year and employing 540 people globally, ambitious goals follow the firm’s acquisition by private-equity company Buckthorn Partners earlier this year.
Although financial details of the deal were not divulged, Mr Garrick said at the time the “substantial investment” would allow the business to embark on the next stage of its global growth plans.
Yesterday, TWMA said Mr Garrick’s new role would see him focus on three key growth development areas: merger and acquisitions activity; new geographical expansion; and new product and technology development.
The company also revealed it will shortly announce further growth plans for the Middle East, building on its recently opened service base in Abu Dhabi.
Mr Branch said: “Since the initial investment we received six months ago, the TWMA team has created robust plans which will result in an exponential level of growth.
“The development of our senior management structure is a natural and positive step, which better allows us to drive those plans forward, and meet some exciting objectives.
“A key goal is to develop TWMA’s already strong international profile.”
Mr Garrick added: “The expertise and investment Buckthorn brings has allowed us to focus on the next stage of development – with a specific emphasis on acquisitions.”
