McInally has revenge in mind for Blue Toon border raid

- BY PAUL THIRD

Peterhead manager Jim McInally has revenge in mind as he prepares to take his side to Berwick Rangers today.

The Blue Toon were stunned by Berwick at Balmoor in September with the visitors winning 2-0 in one of just two wins on the road so far this term.

It has been a different story at Shielfield Park, however, with Robbie Horn’s side having won four of its seven home league games to date.

The Blue Toon’s away form, however, has been excellent with McInally’s men having won six or their seven games on their travels so far and the Peterhead manager is keen to see the strong form continue.

He said: “I’m not sure how we lost in September as it was a strong display from us before we were caught late and it’s a result we’d really like to make amends for.

“I took the chance to watch them at Montrose last weekend after our game was postponed and they could have been five or six down at half-time.

“They were poor at Links Park but I expect they will be looking to bounce back when we go to their place.

“They beat Stirling Albion at home a couple of weeks ago so we will not go there expecting an easy afternoon.

“They seem to be struggling on the road but at home they have had some good results and I know it will be a tough afternoon for us but our away form is up there with anyone in the league and I don’t see why we can’t be confident going there.

“We enjoy away games as teams don’t sit in like they do at Balmoor and that gives us space to play.”
