Dolan fires a warning as Vale host Jags

-

Deveronvale manager Steve Dolan is relishing this afternoon’s derby clash with title holders Buckie Thistle at Princess Royal Park.

Dolan said: “It’s a really exciting fixture but if we play the way we did when beating Lossiemouth 2-1 on Wednesday night we’ll lose the match, it’s as simple as that.

“We need to pick up tenfold when we face the champions this weekend.

“I might think about shuffling the pack a bit as Kyle Gauld did well when he came off the bench.”

The injury-hit Jags are out of the running to defend their title but manager Graeme Stewart hopes his side can end a frustrating campaign strongly.

only club the former striker played for during his long and successful Highland League career. His first managerical post was also at the Bellslea club.

Broch assistant manager James Duthie said: “Nobody here should ever forget what Kris did for our club, both as a player and as a manager. We hadn’t won much for quite a while until he came back to the club.

“In terms of this weekend, we are really struggling for numbers. We will be without skipper Ryan Christie, defender Lewis Davidson, striker Gary Harris and Jamie Beagrie, while fellow midfielder Willie West is a major doubt with a knee injury.”

Inverurie Locos, with striker Andy Hunter in top form after his four goals in a 9-1 triumph against Lossiemouth last weekend, will look to consolidate second place when they face Nairn County at Harlaw Park.

Locos’ only absentee is striker Chris Angus who is unavailable, while Formartine United entertain a much-improved Strathspey Thistle side, who have taken seven points from their last four league starts.
