Black Isle squash pair set sights on medal

-

Black Isle squash duo Alan Clyne and Greg Lobban continue their push for a medal when they face Malaysia in the last eight of the men’s doubles today.

Victory against Mohammad Syafiq Kamal and Eain Yow Ng will put them into the semi-finals and within touching distance of a medal, a situation Clyne found himself in four years ago in Glasgow when he and Harry Leitch lost out in the bronze medal match.

Clyne, from Munlochy, and North Kessock’s Lobban took just 13 minutes on court to dispose of Trinidad and Tobago’s Kale Wilson and Mandela Patrick yesterday, winning 11-2, 11-5. Should they beat the Malaysians this morning, their semi-final will be tomorrow against either Pakistan/New Zealand or Australia/Wales.
