Windfarms at saturation point

-

Mark Pattinson, Brynaport, Kishorn, Ross-shire SIR, – All credit to our MP, Douglas Ross, and a vigilant sporting company, to raise concerns about windfarm saturation continuing to carpet Moray.

Despite an astonishing 640 objections, and the truly heroic fight by one of Scotland’s most prestigious whisky distilleries, it is heart-breaking to hear that the environmentally destructive Dorenell windfarm is set to go ahead. Glenfiddich, “Valley of the Deer”, will now become “Valley of the Turbines”.

I often climb Ben Rinnes, the jewel in the crown of beautiful Banffshire. It is now virtually impossible to take a photograph in any direction without including an unsightly windfarm, and Dorenell will add enormously to this visual blight.

This is supposed to be an internationally important tourist area, Malt Whisky Country, home to the scenic Speyside Way – and yet the increasingly remote Scottish Government are actively

promoting its destruction. Bitter experience from Germany shows as a result of the rash and hasty expansion of renewable energy from wind power, the populations of almost 50% of all bird species have significantly decreased. Dorenell windfarm will destroy prime nesting sites of the charming snow bunting, and the even rarer dotterel.

don’t believe God is at all as they make him out to be.
