Sale of new tractors falls by 3%
Sales of new tractors in the first quarter of the year were back 3% on 2017 to 2,932.
Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA) data also reveals that the number of tractors over 50 horsepower registered in March was back 6.8% at 1,650.
AEA economist Stephen Howarth said: “March is normally the peak month for tractor registrations and this year looks to be no exception. However, for the second month in a row, UK registrations of agricultural tractors were below last year’s level. March 2017 was a particularly good month, though, so the fact that this year’s total was less than 7% lower could be seen as positive.”
