Ruth shines light on life at Holyrood
What: The Royal Northern and University Club (RNUC) annual dinner.
Where: RNUC, Albyn Place, Aberdeen.
Who: The RNUC dinner with guest speaker Ruth Davidson, leader of the Scottish Conservatives, was attended by more than 90 members and guests representing the full range of areas of the club. As well as the current chairman Jimmy Hutchison, and immediate past chairman Robert Smith who chaired the event, other past chairmen Charles Skene, Vijay Jandial, Charles Henderson and John Craig attended, as did MSP Bill Bowman, who is a long-standing member of the club.
Why: The RNUC holds a large number of events in the club, ranging from Burns suppers to musical evenings and formal dinners when distinguished people from the worlds of business and industry, entertainment, education, sport, medicine and politics are invited to be guest speakers. Ruth Davidson gave an interesting and entertaining talk on political leaders from the past as well as giving an insight into life at Holyrood.
