-

SIR, – Your correspondent William Murray (Press and Journal, April 17), questions whether the age distribution of the Leave and Stay voters in the EU referendum has produced an unfair result, meaning we should have a rerun.

I would suggest that, perhaps, the preponderance of older voters who opted to vote Leave did so because they can actually remember how much better it was when Britain was a real democracy, not part of a “United States of Europe”, run by an unelected, and immovable cabal of (over) privileged bureaucrats, most of whom are career politicians who have never actually held down a real job in their entire lives. needs is a new council crest. The reason being that the current crest has “lost the dignity and integrity which is appropriate to the organisation”. I would venture that any loss of dignity and integrity should not be blamed on the crest but rather laid at the feet of councillors. The current crest has a dignity and style which the new one patently lacks. The cost of this re-badging of premises, vehicles, uniforms etc is unknown but it will be considerable.
