Positives to take despite this goalless draw

- STEVEN FERGUSON

We take lots of positives from the game.

We find ourselves back at the bottom of the league but it’s never about what other teams are doing at this stage in the season – it is all about what we are doing.

We felt it was always going to be a really tough game for us and we had to match Motherwell in the way they do things – and I felt we did that.

I felt every one of our players, those who started and the ones who came on, really played their part in fighting for every little scrap.

If we are not going to win the game, we have to make sure we don’t lose. The fact is we have kept another clean sheet against Motherwell. They are a really good team, it’s difficult to play against Motherwell as they are doing really well.

Certainly, I don’t think anyone will relish playing Motherwell. I don’t think Motherwell will take their eye off the ball. They will be looking to

win their remaining games. Teams who still have to play Motherwell had better be ready for a battle.

We defended well. There were not many chances for either team and probably the best chance fell to us.

There were never going to be that many chances in the game. It was always going to be exactly how the game panned out.

We needed to make sure we weren’t steamrollered and we were not.

It was a positive from that perspective.
