Rennie to make changes after defeat in Belfast

away trips. Richard Cockerill’s Gunners are next up for Rennie’s team and the Kiwi says he will freshen up his team for the 1872 Cup decider at Murrayfield.

He said: “We’ve got a lot to play for against Edinbrugh. We’ll reflect, take a look at the footage and we’ll make our minds up about who is going to play in that game.

“There are some pretty disappointed boys, so we’re going to have to pick them front up.

“Changes will be made ahead of Edinburgh. We’ve got a handful of guys who back up and didn’t travel who will come into the mix. We’ll know more after we review the game properly.”

Ulster, meanwhile, stayed in the race to make the Pro14 play-offs by claiming victory at the Kingspan Stadium in their last regulation season home game.

The win came after a tough week for the province, who came under fire after they barred news reporters from a press conference in the fallout of Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding’s high-profile rape trial. Both players were acquitted of rape last month but were sacked by Ulster after the trial’s conclusion.

Nick Timoney’s injury time try – his second of the game – brought Ulster the five points they needed to also secure a likely Champions Cup play-off place at home to Ospreys by securing fourth place in the Conference B table.

The Irish province are now four behind Edinburgh heading into this week’s last round of games.
